Follow our simple guidelines to organize & prepare your photos.
Pre-organizing helps us group your digitized images. Preparing them will ensure quicker service and help prevent scanning issues and item rejections.

deliveries
Schedule pick-up/delivery of your photos and documents, and we will quickly scan and optimize them per your preferences.
Once complete (usually 1-2 weeks) we will deliver the digitized files as you prefer (Digital Download or USB Drive), and you can either keep the originals or we can dispose of them for you.

DPI
The difference between 300 DPI, 600 DPI, and 1200 DPI scans lies in the image's resolution and detail. DPI stands for "dots per inch," and a higher DPI means more dots are used to create the image, resulting in a finer, more detailed picture. This is particularly useful for enlarging images without losing clarity. However, the effectiveness of a high DPI scan also depends on the output device's capabilities, as not all screens can display the increased detail that comes with higher DPI settings.
enhancements
Our image enhancement system uses a series of AI filters to help brighten colors, accentuate contrast, and affect some red-eye reduction. Most people prefer enhanced images, but not always. We can deliver both enhanced an original scans of each photo.

This service is for documents or photo scanning only. Negatives, slides and other media are not accepted.
Photo sizes between 3"x3" and 8"x10". Documents up to 8.5”x11”.
Newspaper clippings, odd shaped photographs and laminated images cannot be scanned. Photos must be square or rectangular in shape.
Photos must be able to bend/curl easily. Photographs that are thick or mounted cannot be scanned.
We cannot scan anything that has staples, stickers, glue, tape, or any other dirt/grime/residue.
No copyrighted photos may be submitted for legal reasons.
Any photo that does not meet these requirements will not be scanned and returned to you unscanned

Remove all photos from albums, envelopes, etc. Make sure no staples, paper clips, Post-It notes, etc. are attached and that there is no sticky material on the photo which can cause the photo to stick to other photos.
ALL photos sent to be scanned must be grouped by size. For example, all the 4x6's are bundled together, all the 5x7's are bundled together, etc. The entire order must be organized in this manner. If you do not wish to organize your photos in this way, contact us for custom pricing.
Make sure every photo within a bundle is right side up and facing the same direction. If upside down the scans also will be upside down or face down (so the back of the photo is scanned, not the front).
All photos must be lying horizontally regardless of orientation (vertical or horizontal).
Organize your photos in bundles with names that you understand. We will deliver the scans in folders using the names you’ve chosen.
OR, you can include index cards, either standard 3.5"x5" or 4"x6" size, with handwritten notes describing the category or year. These will be scanned along with the pictures and will be the first image in each series of photos. DO NOT use Post-it notes (they will be either scanned on the image or thrown away) or scraps of paper (they will jam in our scanner and be thrown away).
Fan through all your photos. This helps confirm that the photos are loosely presented and without any impediment, such as glue or sticky materials. This also helps to identify if your pictures are dusty and to help remove any materials that might cause an imperfect scan.
HELPFUL TIP: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the front and back of each photo to remove any excess dust to achieve optimum scans.
Any substance (i.e. water marks, pen marks, etc.) that is on the photograph will be scanned on the photograph.
Photos cannot be glued or taped to anything else. They will jam in the scanner as they are too thick.
Note: Curled photos may have a haze or be scanned out of focus due to their inability to lie flat on the scanning glass. Often times this presents itself as a purple haze over part of the image.
LASTLY, package your photos in a box or sturdy container. We recommend using rubber bands to group them in batches of about 100-150 photographs.

We cannot offer a refund once your order has been scanned and delivered.
If you receive your scans at the requested quality (DPI) and decide you’d prefer a different (DPI), this will be considered the start of a new order.
If the preceding guidelines are not followed, the unprocessed order will be returned to you and payment refunded minus a handling fee not to exceed $50.00.
Unless otherwise coordinated, we may delete all your scans from our digital storage 30 days after delivery.
Any photos, documents, or scans that remain unclaimed 90 days after service delivery may be shredded and destroyed without advance notice.
LASTLY, we consider your photos and documents your private property. We will not keep, post, share, duplicate, or sell your scans. That said, we are not afforded legal privileges and may be obligated to report anything illegal or potentially dangerous. We also must cooperate with courts or law enforcement if compelled by a warrant or subpoena.

We are a small community-minded business founded by Seattle (Wallingford) locals of almost 40yrs. This is not our main livelihood, but it is a way to help our community with a high-quality trustable service.
We try to hire local students and community members who need a manageable, flexible, and supportive gig. We also work with Seattle Public Schools to provide work and internship opportunities for students.

We have partnered with local non-profit Lift Every Voice Today (www.lifteveryvoicetoday.org) , and donate 100% of our profits to support their community building, mental-health awareness, and historical archiving missions.
We also offer free services to those who have been affected by suicide of a loved-one. Our founder lost is brother Noam to suicide in 2024 and experienced how impossible it feels to handle such a tragedy. Photos became the most important and treasured relics of Noam’s life, and preserving them became a difficult but necessary task.
